Phoenix Hairpin
Pink hands soft and fine,
reflected in golden drops of wine
Spring paints the willows,
green palace walls can’t confine
East winds unfair, joyous times rare
In my heart sad thoughts throng,
we’ve been apart for years too long
Too long… too long…

Love not your golden dress, I pray,
More than your youthful golden hours.
Gather sweet blossoms while you may,
And not the twig devoid of flowers.
The Ruined Capital
知我者,谓我心忧;
The millet drops its head;
The sorghum is in sprout.
Slowly I trudge and tread;
My heart is tossed about.
Those who know me will say,
My heart is sad and bleak;
Those who don’t know me may
Ask me for what I seek.
O boundless azure sky,
Who’s ruined the land and why?
知我者,谓我心忧;
The millet drops its head;
The sorghum in the ear.
Slowly I trudge and tread;
My heart seems drunk and drear
Those who know me will say
My heart is sad and bleak;
Those who don’t know me may
Ask me for what I seek.
O boundless azure sky,
Who’s ruined the land and why?
知我者,谓我心忧;
The millet drops its head;
The sorghum is in grain.
Slowly I trudge and tread;
My heart seems choked with pain.
Those who know me will say
My heart is sad and bleak;
Those who don’t know me may
Ask me for what I seek.
O boundless azure sky,
Who’s ruined the land and why?
Immortal at the Magpie Bridge
Clouds float like works of art;
Stars shoot with grief at heart.
Across the Milky Way the Cowherd meets the Maid.
When autumn’s Golden Wind embraces Dew of Jade,
All the love scenes on earth, however many, fade.
Their tender love flows like a stream;
This happy date seems but a dream.
Can they bear a separate homeward way?
If love between both sides can last for aye,
Why need they stay together night and day?
偶然
By chance
I am a cloud in the skies
That by chance caste a shade
To your heart’s blue sea
Don’t be taken by surprise
Or overwhelmed with glee
With a flick
All disappear without a trace
你有你的,我有我的,方向;
You and me
Meet on the see at night
You go your way and I go mine
Remember if you do
Or forget if you may
This encounter that gives off a ray
The Piper
Sing us a song—-
Sing us a song of May,
Sweet swallow will return
From seas far, far away.
Sing us a song—-
Sing us a song of cheers,
Forget not the winter,
The winter had our tears.
Sing us a song—-
Sing us love that can’t die,
Dew-drops glitter on grass,
There’s light in lady’s eye.
Homesick
When I was young,
my homesickness was a small stamp,
I was here,
my mother was there.
After growing up,
my homesickness was a narrow ticket,
I was here,
my bride was there.
Later,
my homesickness was a little tomb,
I was outside,
my mother was inside.
And now,
my homesickness is a shallow strait,
I am here,
the mainland is there.

Dreams And Poems
Those ordinary expereinces
Those ordinary images
Will turn into kaleidoscopic novelties
When accidentally flooding into dreams.
Those ordinary emotions
Those ordinary expressions
Willl be composed as varied novel verses
When by chance conceived by the poets.
爱过才知情重;
Only when drunk, you’ll feel the strong mellowness;
Only when in love, you’ll know the deep affections.
Surely you can’t compose my poems,
Just as I can’t dream your dreams.
回答
The Answer
Baseness is the a passport for the base,
Honour an epitaph for the honourable.
See how the gilded sky teems
With the twisted shadows of the dead.
The ice age is over,
So why does ice still bind the world?
The Cape of Good Hope has been discovered,
So why is the Dead Sea still thick with sails?
I come into this world
Carrying only paper, rope and a shadow,
To proclaim before judgment is passed
This plea of the judged.
Listen to me, world,
I – do – not – believe!
If a thousand challengers lie beneath your feet
Then I am number one thousand and one.
I don’t believe the sky is blue;
I don’t believe the thunder’s roar;
I don’t believe that dreams are false;
I don’t believe that death has no revenge.
If the ocean is destined to break the dike;
Then let its bitter water pour into my soul;
If the land is destined to rise,
Then let mankind choose a new mountain for survival.
The vast unobstructed firmament
Is it with glimmering stars;
They are a new turning:
These hieroglyphs of the ages,
These staring eyes of the future.

正如我轻轻的来;
Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Quietly I wave good-bye
To the rosy clouds in the western sky.
是夕阳中的新娘;
The golden willows by the riverside
Are young brides in the setting sun;
Their reflections on the shimmering waves
Always linger in the depth of my heart.
油油的在水底招摇;
The floating heart growing the sludge
Sways leisurely under the water;
In the gentle waves of Cambridge
I would be a water plant!
That pool under the shade of elm trees
Holds not water but the rainbow from the sky;
Shattered to pieces among the duck weeds
Is the sediment of a rainbow-like dream?
To seek a dream?
Just to pole a boat upstream
To where the green grass is more verdant
Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight
And sing aloud in the splendor of starlight.
悄悄是别离的笙箫;
But I can’t sing aloud
Quietness is my farewell music;
Even summer insects heap silence for me
Silent is Cambridge tonight!
Very quietly I left
As quietly as I came here;
Gently I flick my sleeves
Not even a wisp of cloud will I bring away.
